Goalkeeper in football and futsal since the age of 6 at different levels, Esteban Salido has been oriented for a few years to coaching goalkeepers. First of all in Club (currently head coach of Senior goalkeepers at RCS Brainois - National Division 3 - and coach of young goalkeepers at Union-Saint-Gilloise), and for 2 years, founder of GoalKeepers University.

Methodology

Currently a large number of goalkeeper training is based on the repetition of movements, pre-established sequences without real reflections. 

Modern football demands a different approach to goalkeeper training, so it is important to provide goalkeepers with drills in which they will be forced to react as if they were in a match situation. Trigger our own actions to face the game which wants to be faster and faster.

At GKPU, we pay a great deal of attention to giving goalkeepers the confidence they need to be the modern guardian, a role that is so difficult. It is therefore essential to put the guards in the best mental conditions.

Esteban Salido therefore wanted to bring something new in the mental, physical and technical coaching of goalkeepers.

Group training

Our specifics contain exercises which are representative of actions that the goalkeeper will find during a match, without the basics being forgotten. We work individually or with groups of 3 or 4 goalkeepers maximum per coach, which allows us to work fully during each session.

Individual training

During individual training, the goalkeeper is analyzed movement by movement and when one of the movements is not performed correctly, we take the time to correct it so that it becomes a conditioned reflex.
